See Design Studio wins two WA AILA awards for Karrinyup Shopping Centre

See Design Studio are proud to have won two WA AILA Landscape Architecture Awards for 2022.

Karrinyup Shopping Centre West Deck received an award in the Civic Landscapes category for the dynamic and verdant new public plaza. The space is defined by an extensive water feature which weaves through the site, changing as it goes. It creates a sensory experience for visitors to the site, encouraging tactile interactions and inviting people to pause. Built above an underground carpark the space is verdant and lush with shady mature trees, planting and lawn creating a welcoming microclimate.

Also at Karrinyup, our playful and original playground design known as ‘The Cubby’ won an award in the Play Spaces category. The design takes inspiration from the backyard cubby house, playfully exploding and expanding elements. The permeable multi level play-structure integrates a range of play experiences for different ages and abilities.

We are proud of our work at Karrinyup Shopping centre and have loved visiting and watching people using and enjoying the spaces.
