Middleton Beach Foreshore Complete

The Middleton Beach Foreshore project is complete and has become a much-loved beach parkland for Albany’s community. See Design Studio worked in collaboration with The City of Albany to deliver this sizeable public open space on the south coast.

The design takes inspiration from the surrounding coastline. The needs of the community including the local surf club and cafe were at the heart of the design process. Middleton Beach’s iconic mature Norfolk Island pine trees anchor the new work creating shade and protection from the weather.  The project was built over two construction phases, the first being the building of an extensive 3m deep granite buried sea wall.

After a couple of years of hard work, seeing this beautiful place come to life and being used and enjoyed by the community has been been very rewarding for our team of landscape architects.
